Q3 Risk Management - MMS Chat with Charles
Ontario municipalities are preparing for regulatory changes that reshape highway maintenance practices and influence how claims and litigation are managed in the years ahead. Led by Charles Painter of Dolden Wallace Folick LLP, this session will provide a clear, expert-driven overview of the changes to Ontario's Minimum Maintenance Standards (MMS). The session will explore the most significant proposed amendments, the expected implementation timeline, and what these changes could mean for municipal highway maintenance operations, risk management practices, and future liability exposures. Practical considerations will also be discussed to help municipalities begin planning and preparing for implementation, which is anticipated in spring 2027.
The session will also include a high-level overview of the anticipated changes to Ontario's Rules of Civil Procedure, expected to come into effect early next year. He will discuss the purpose of these updates and explore their potential implications for municipal litigation, claims management, and related legal processes.
Remember, these webinars will not be recorded as we follow Chatham House Rules. Be ready with questions!
