Changing the Process: Getting Municipal Risk Management Workflows to Stick

Event Date
November 24, 2026 - 11:00 AM (EST) to 12:00 PM (EST)

A better process only creates value when people actually use it.

Join AMO and ClearRisk for an informal fireside conversation featuring Rob Walz, an experienced Ontario municipal risk management professional, and Adam Shier, ClearRisk's Director of Risk and former municipal Risk Manager, as they explore the challenges of introducing and sustaining changes to municipal risk management workflows.

Drawing on their experience in municipal risk management, Rob and Adam will discuss how municipalities can improve established processes, encourage adoption across departments, and build stronger communication and accountability.

Attendees will gain insights into:
•    Recognizing when existing risk management workflows need to change
•    Engaging departments and stakeholders early in the process
•    Overcoming resistance and encouraging adoption of new processes
•    Establishing clear ownership and accountability
•    Maintaining momentum and ensuring improvements stick over time

Designed for Ontario municipal risk managers, claims and insurance professionals, and others involved in organizational process improvement, this session will offer practical lessons and real-world perspectives that attendees can apply within their own municipalities.

The session will conclude with an audience Q&A.
